Coffee and Breastfeeding

saya baru terjumpa satu article mengenai coffee and breastfeeding. i'm a coffee lover and it has been more than a year saya kurang ambil coffee... start masa preg baby 2nd sampai sekarang. sometimes rindu jugak kat bau2 kopi yang lazat ni... but now, no worries... saya dah ade alternatif lain untuk kopi...jeng jeng jeng.. Kopi Radix dari HPA. kandungan kafeinnya sikit sangat tapi kalsiumnya tinggi. sebelum saya ambil kopi ni, saya pergi jupe herbalis HPA ni... yelah karang takot ade side efek ke... tapi yang paling best dia cakap... nursing mom boleh ambik dan baby yang minum susu dari ibu yang minum kopi ni.. leh cepat jalan sebab kandungan calciumnya tinggi.. tapi saya tetap jarang-jarang minum kopi ni... mungkin dah lama tak minum so macam lain macam je bile minum.

erkk.. ape aku merepek ni.. ok kita patah balik ke topik kita... artikel tu tulis:-

coffee is safe to drink by a breastfeeding mother and will have little affect on an infant, as long as a nursing mother does not go over three cups a day. Without exceeding three cups of coffee a day, or its equivalent in other beverages, the amount of caffeine passed on to the baby is minimal and in most cases is well tolerated with no adverse reaction. a breastfeeding woman can drink up to five 5oz cups of coffee a day, or up to 750 mg other caffeinated beverages without a problem.
tapi kita jangan pulak ambil kesempatan... sebab kafein boleh mengurangkan kandungan nutrisi susu kita. ingat macam ni je... APA-APA PUN, BILA AMBIL LEBIH, AKAN MENDATANGKAN KEMUDARATAN.

A common myth told to nursing moms by well intentioned friends and family members is drinking coffee will decrease a woman's milk supply. This is in fact not at all true. Mothers who drink a moderate amount of caffeine will not find doing so has any kind of impact on their milk supply. In fact some research suggests that caffeine might help temporarily increase a woman's milk supply.
tu dia... it won't decrease the milk supply tapi some occasion helps increase the milk supply. tapi mesti ingat.. keyword dia masih "MODERATE". tapi saya suggestkan kita cari alternative lain untuk boost up the milk supply.. banyak cara yang sihat dan selamat lagi kan?

When used in moderation caffeine should not have much of an effect on a breastfeed baby. Some babies may be more sensitive to caffeine however and some mothers may not realize how much caffeine they are truly drinking. When this is the case a baby may display some symptoms of stimulation due to caffeine.
Symptoms of a baby that is affected by caffeine:-
Wide eyed, Overly active, Hyper alert, Awake more than is normal, Will not sleep for long periods of time, Unusually fussy.
bila baby kita nampak ade tanda-tanda macam ni, better kita stop minum kopi. Agresif macam ni bukan membantu perkembangan otak mereka, tapi memenatkan otak mereka. Contoh :- baby perlu tido yang cukup untuk perkembangan otak yang sihat.

sekarang baru terang pasal coffee and breasfeeding ni.. kalo kita nak ambil, biarlah in moderate, kalo tak nak pon takpe.. lagi bagus.. Ape-ape pon. TEPUK DADA TANYA SELERA.
